This is the second course inside the Emancipatory Education pillar of Wake Up Africa. Emancipatory education doesn’t stop at giving someone facts. It gives someone command over themselves first, because nobody can build anything lasting, a cooperative, a business, a movement, while they’re still at the mercy of their own reactions. Emotional Intelligence is where that self command gets built.
Every decision you’ll ever make passes through your emotions before it reaches your hands. This course treats emotional intelligence not as some soft add on skill, but as the actual operating system running underneath leadership, negotiation, and every piece of collective work this movement depends on. It builds self awareness, regulation, and the ability to read other people accurately. And it draws a distinction that governs everything cooperative work touches: the difference between sympathy, which takes sides and keeps a conflict alive, and empathy, which understands every party involved and actually builds the conditions for people to work together.
What you walk away with: command over your own reactions, and the capacity to build cooperation in situations where other people only see opposition.
